About Me

Maribel Martinez

l was born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico. I came to this country at age 19 not speaking English and with a middle school education. With dedication, hard work, and the help of my family, teachers, and community members, I graduated from the University of Washington in 2001 with a degree in Political Science and from Seattle University School of Law in 2011.

I use my personal experience as an immigrant and my professional experience as an attorney to provide experienced, high-quality services to immigrants and their families. My goal when I take a case is to give an honest opinion of the situation, explain the options and the risks, inform my clients of what I am doing and why, and work in partnership with my clients to bring about a successful outcome to their case.

I have experience representing individuals in immigration court, Tacoma and Seattle. I have represented individuals in bond proceedings, asylum, withholding of removal, adjustment of status, and cancelation of removal, among others. I also have experience in applications for U Visas, VAWA, family petitions, waivers (including provisional waivers), DACA and DACA Renewals, Adjustment of Status, Removal of Conditions (green card), Advance Parole, Advance Parole for Military Families, Asylum (including credible and reasonable fear interviews), and Naturalization, among others.
